🛰️ Space Insider | U.S. Space Traffic Funds Cut, China–Pakistan Space Pact, Earth’s AI Twin

Good morning,

The U.S. Commerce Department’s decision to claw back 40% of funding for the Office of Space Commerce is a reminder of how fragile America’s civil space traffic management plans remain, even as congestion in orbit grows. Meanwhile, China and Pakistan are moving in the opposite direction by expanding aerospace ties through new satellite collaborations and even a future astronaut mission; a testament to how space partnerships are becoming a key axis of geopolitical alignment.

On the commercial side, Aechelon and its partners have announced Project Orbion, an ambitious AI-enabled digital twin of Earth. By fusing radar, optical imagery, and 3D visualization, the platform promises real-time situational awareness with implications for disaster response, defense, and next-generation AI training.
